We are posting from upstairs at Kofeeman today. There is construction downstairs, so they told us to come upstairs. We didn't even know there was an upstairs, it is like a private banquet room. The entire room is a bright lavender color with mauve chairs, mauve covered table and pink chiffon draped curtains. It really is like a pepto bismol bad dream.
We had an interesting night last night, we got pulled over by the police on the way home. They were getting our driver for an illegal turn, but because we don't speak Russian we had no idea what was going on and we were pretty scared. No ticket for the driver, so it worked out ok. The way they pull cars over here is the policeman stands on the side of the road and holds up an orange card, kind of like the ref pulling a yellow on you in a soccer match.
The last three of the first group of families are in court today, I'm sure we'll go out tonight to celebrate their new families. It will get a little more lonely here as they leave, we have enjoyed getting to know them all. Hopefully our turn for court will be soon! We miss the boys very much and are very ready for some home cooked food.

We got pulled over once too and I joked about 'paying the bribe' but was shot a dirty look by the translator so I figured I'd keep my big mouth shut from then on... Though you do have to wonder if it isn't just to line their pockets considering how crazy everybody drives around there...
ReplyDeleteWe got very lonely too once the other families left. There was no one else to talk to at lunch and in the Baby house except each other... And being together 24/7 can really test a marriage! Ha!
While it'll be good to be home and certainly see your boys - it is darn cold here even in the South as New Orleans and Houston both had snow!
The perks keep adding up - now you have appreciation for laundry AND cooking.
ReplyDeleteHang in there!
